Cylinder Heads

Cylinder heads from all sizes of diesel engines are expertly handled by our comprehensive head department. From single heads to multiple heads, 2 valves or multiple valves, we are able to test, machine and repair all makes and models of cylinder heads to OEM specifications.

Cylinder Blocks

Whether you rely on a single cylinder Lister diesel that powers an irrigation pump or a V20 engine, our block reconditioning department is able to test, machine and repair all sizes, makes and models of cylinder blocks vital to any engine’s performance. We have the very latest CNC equipment to ensure that all machining and repairs meet or exceed OEM specifications in every aspect.

Crankshafts

Our unrivalled crankshaft reconditioning department is one of the most comprehensive in Australia. Featuring three crankshaft grinders, all equipped with electronic sizing and linear scale control systems, we are able to test, machine and repair all makes, models and sizes of crankshafts. From a 3 metre V16 or V20 crankshaft to a small one cylinder diesel engine, our expertise and specialised machinery will have your equipment performing better than before with minimal downtime.

Our industry leading crankshaft department offers exacting OEM specifications, tolerances, surface finishes and radius dimensions for all induction hardened diesel and gas crankshafts. No matter what size your shaft we can offer the following precision services:

Conrods

Conrods (connecting rods) of all sizes can be expertly inspected, tested, repaired and machined by our conrod department. As with all Lovick Engineering departments, this area utilises the very latest tooling, equipment and expertise to carry out intricate OEM-specific conrod works that include:

  • Complete inspection and survey

  • Crack testing, crack repairing and hardness testing

  • Bigend resizing, closing, grinding and boring

  • Little end bush fitting and pin boring including keystone (tapered) bushes

  • Bush pressure testing and bush broaching (Mack)

  • Cryogenic bush fitting with liquid nitrogen

Camshaft

Grinding and re-profiling camshafts is one of the services offered in-house by Lovick Diesel Engineering. Camshafts are the heart of an engine. Lift, duration and timing are critical factors in the reconditioning process. Lovicks take extra care to ensure every camshaft is reconditioned back to new OEM specifications.

We also offer reconditioning services for cam followers, roller followers, rockers and roller rockers. We carry cam masters for all makes and models of engines including CAT, Detroit, Komatsu, Cummins, Mack, John Deere and less common brands such as Waukesha and Jenbacher, to name just a few.

We also hold blank masters enabling our camshaft department to machine all models of camshafts so we can always cater for your needs at short notice.
